Leila’s prayer is a prayer about the future of Kazakh land, mutilated and exhausted with tests and deprivations.Satybaldy Narymbetov was born in 1946 in Achisai, in the Shymkent region. He graduated 1969 from VGIK, Scriptwriter Department, and 1984 from Directors and Scriptwriters Higher Courses. He is a Tarlan Independent Prize laureate. He made his directorial debut 1981 with the short film Evil-doer. Up to date he made six feature films. His latest one, Steppe Express, was shot 2005.
