The story of a man who, in spite of bad circumstances, tries to stay honest. He becomes a witness of a crime by accident and from that moment, he is the suspect and the investigator. At the same time, he has the opportunity to get a large sum of money, which would resolve all of his family problems, who often has nothing to eat for lunch. Besides temptations, the worker and his young friends are ready to fight for truth, convinced that they could endure for some time without good food, but not without justice. They dream of young beef, of a little easier life, but more of what could give meaning to such life... (85 min, 1986)In this atmospheric, moody drama, a man is on his way home from work when he accidentally witnesses two murders. He sees a sack full of money and a gun near the crime scene, grabs them without thinking, and runs for home. This rash deed returns to haunt him for many reasons. On one hand, his wife wants to spend the money on the many things they need. On the other, his conscience (combined with police who are snooping around and a butcher who saw what he did) is nagging at him. He makes several trips to the butcher's shop to look at the cuts of meat he could buy with the bag of money. Meanwhile, neither the butcher, the police nor the men who perpetrated the crime are going to sit still while he makes up his mind about what to do.
