A group of children are harassed by a local bully. In order to stop it, they seek the help of a retired boxer. Children from a small town are collecting money for their boat, which is constantly being taken away by a bully. Not knowing how to resist him, they see a hero of their dreams in a sick tramp, ex-boxer to whom they give shelter, hoping that, when he recovers, he will challenge the bully to a duel. Finally, the tramp accepts duel with much stronger opponent, realizing that he will lose this battle, but also that he will obtain something much more important - love and trust of his son, who is among the children also.
