Marisol, a sophisticated Guatemalan, is married to François, who comes from a bourgeois family. They’ve just had a baby, her life seems perfect. However, Marisol thinks she is incapable of being loved by her baby and this fear becomes an obsession. Thinking she is cursed, she convinces her husband to get a Guatemalan nanny. But Icara is going to change her life completely. Icara starts like a nightmare : Marisol roams in a society party with her baby screaming in her arms. Alejandra Rojo then tells us about Marisol who can’t be reassured and who becomes totally dependant on the nanny. Between a surrealistic Latin atmosphere and dialogues as straight as a die, the director weaves a tale where imagination and social criticism are at their highest and confirms the quality of her previous work.
