Marcela and her brother Claudio travel to the old family house in Villa Carlos Paz, Argentina, with a project to turn it into a boutique hotel. Marcela, a prestigious architect, returns to the country after separating from her American husband. Claudio, an actor and bohemian, seeks inspiration to write a play that will finally rescue him from obscurity. While the siblings await the arrival of investors, they realise that in their absence, the long-serving caretaker Ramón -the man who raised them- has taken possession of the mansion and rents it out for various activities. From this crossroads, The House Sitter delves into their relationships, frustrations, and a need to make peace with the past.
