Kinetopsia, a disorder in which a person believes that static objects are in motion, serves as a metaphor for Czech society and its so-called transformation in the 1990s. From the perspective of a young couple of the post-revolutionary generation who didn’t live through the “golden nineties”, we discover the fascinating project of the now abandoned Discoland Sylvie. This Prague club belonged to controversial businessman Ivan Jonák and attracted the business elite and artists of the time, who embraced the ethos of democracy and freedom. The film opens the door to the recent past and reveals the shadowy sides of a nascent neoliberal society.
